 President and Mrs. George W. Bush dedicated the San Jose
Grist Mill on Wednesday, August 29, 2001. With great
cheering, the President and First Lady lifted the sluice
gate which released water from the San Jose Acequia to
empower the mill.The President and First Lady arrived
amidst a flurry of excitement and color. The youth
Mariachi Los Tecolotes from Highlands High School and
Rosas de Castilla Escaramuza welcomed them as they came
through the Convento arches.
